Our vision is to establish the Sticks Mania High Noon Showdown Battle of the Drumline and Step Show as the premier annual event where talented young performers come together to exhibit their skills, inspire others, and create lasting memories. Mission Statement

The mission of the Sticks Mania High Noon Showdown Battle of the Drumline and Step Show is to celebrate and showcase the incredible talents, creativity, and passion of drumlines and step teams from high schools across our region. Through this event, we strive to foster a sense of unity, healthy competition, and cultural appreciation among participating schools and their communities.

Objectives

1. Showcase Talent: Provide a platform for drumlines and step teams to showcase their talent, pushing the boundaries of creativity and excellence in their performances.

2. Promote Unity: Foster collaboration and camaraderie among participating schools, creating an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and builds strong bonds within communities.

3. Inspire and Educate: Encourage young performers to develop their skills, expand their horizons, and pursue their passion for music and dance through workshops, masterclasses, and mentorship opportunities.

4. Engage the Community: Engage the local community by providing an exciting and entertaining event that showcases the artistic achievements of elementary to  high school students, fostering a sense of pride and support.

5. Promote Cultural Appreciation: Embrace cultural diversity by featuring a wide variety of musical styles and dance traditions, promoting understanding, respect, and appreciation for different cultures.

6. Provide Scholarships: Establish a scholarship program to recognize outstanding performers and encourage their continued pursuit of education and artistic development.

With an unwavering passion for music and performance arts, Tony has dedicated himself to creating a platform that celebrates the incredible talents of drumlines and step teams from elementary to high schools across the region.

Drawing on his extensive experience in event planning and management, Tony has meticulously crafted Sticks Mania to offer an immersive and unforgettable experience. From captivating performances to thrilling competitions, he ensures that every aspect of the event captivates and inspires participants and spectators alike.

Glenn Robertson, Sr.

Glenn Robertson's in the world of percussion spans over several, showcasing his deep and expertise in the field. Beginning his percussive endeavors with the South Oak Cliff Marching Band from 1974 to 1977, Glenn honed his skills as a snare drummer, eventually taking on the role of Snare Drum Section Leader in 1976-77.

Transitioning to Mountain View Junior College from 1977 to 1979, Glenn continued to expand his musical horizons, delving into a blend of business studies and music education. His commitment to percussion manifested in diverse ways over the years, cementing his legacy as a notable figure in the music community.

From 1991 to 2000, Glenn served as the drummer for the esteemed Dallas Ft Worth Mass Choir, contributing his talents to various impactful recordings. Noteworthy projects include "Look How Far We've Come" (1991), "I Will Say Yes" (1991), Myrna Summers' "Deliverance" (1992), DFW Mass's "For His Glory" (1993), and "Lead Me" (1995).

In 2004, Glenn showcased his creativity by composing and performing the jingle for the GSU vs PV Battle of the Drummers sponsored by Greyhound Bus. His multifaceted career also includes stints as a percussion instructor at Bishop Dunne Catholic High School (2005-2011) and Faith Temple SDA (2011-2013).

Glenn's impact extended beyond teaching, as he dedicated 20 years to private drum instruction, nurturing budding talents in the art of percussion. His expertise was further recognized through his roles as a percussion judge for various prestigious events, including the GSU/Lancaster Battle of the Bands and the "Drilltime Production Clash of the Drummers".

As a skilled percussion music writer, Glenn's compositions have left a lasting impression on both performers and audiences alike. Notable achievements include scoring a 1 at UIL with St. Joseph's Catholic middle school in 2006 with the performance of "Cosmic," and in 2016 and 2017 with Myles Bell of Duncanville Middle School performing "Headache" and "Cadence," respectively.

Glenn Robertson's unwavering dedication, creative spirit, and profound impact in the world of percussion have solidified his place as a respected musician and educator, leaving a lasting legacy in the music community.

Monique Booker AKA Coach Mo

Passionate about coaching, I am known as Coach Mo in the step community. As a 7-time National winning step coach, I have led a social club founded in 2009 with a strong community focus. My dedication lies in nurturing young women and men through the art of step, academic growth, and the support of a family structure. My mission is to positively impact the lives of young adults by offering educational programs that foster character development, instill vital values and social awareness, and encourage healthy decision-making through the medium of step. Our organization consistently secures 1st place rankings at an Elite level in various competitions. Through our wins at Nationals, States, and Districts, the Ma’At Steppers exemplify excellence at an elite level, earning us the reputation as "The Truth on An Elite Level".
